Apéro & Intellect brings six to eight people around one table to discuss a single question about AI and its technical, cultural, and social effects. In-person gatherings include brief introductions, a shared meal, and a host-guided conversation. There are no panels or formal presentations.

Rami Sayar founded the series. He is from Montreal, where friends often meet for an apéro: drinks and conversation before dinner. He paired that custom with a focused discussion. The name also shortens to AI.

The gatherings are for people who build AI, work alongside it, study it, or question its effects. Hosts bring together guests with different disciplines, experiences, and points of view. Attendance is by application or invitation, with priority for readers of Rami's Readings when space is limited.

Most upcoming in-person gatherings are planned for Greater Seattle, with occasional editions elsewhere in the United States or Canada. Selected virtual gatherings give readers outside Seattle another way to join.

Most gatherings are free. Some brunches or dinners may have paid tickets or sponsor support. Organizers share those details before guests apply. Gatherings are private by default, and hosts send the venue address only to confirmed guests unless an event names a public venue.
